Mastectomy: A mastectomy involves the complete removal of one or both breasts to treat or prevent breast cancer. Depending on the patient’s condition and preference, this can include simple mastectomy, where only the breast tissue is removed, or modified radical mastectomy, which also involves removing lymph nodes under the arm.

Mastectomy with Reconstruction: For patients undergoing a mastectomy, breast reconstruction surgery can be performed to restore the shape and appearance of the breast. This can be done using implants or autologous tissue from another part of the patient’s body. Reconstruction can be done simultaneously with the mastectomy or at a later date, depending on the patient’s treatment plan and personal preferences.
